Yummy Smoothies

Happy Tuesday! Dr Kelly here.

As Hippocrates said, let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.

A breakfast smoothie is a wonderful way to get your nutrients in during the hustle of the morning. It is simple to do. Grab some fruit and vegetables and throw them in a blender. I throw my ingredients in a vitamix and transfer it into a Yeti mug with a straw for the day.

The mug keeps the smoothie cold all day long. I only rinse my blender and leave it for the day to air dry.

My typical smoothie is:

  • Mango
  • Papaya
  • Dragon fruit
  • Microgreens
  • Water

If I have it in the fridge, I’ll add celery and the juice from a lime. This is one of Anthony William’s recipes & my go to.

My daughter’s go to smoothie:

  • Strawberries
  • Spinach
  • Mango
  • O.J.

She uses a NutriBullet. It comes with a container that she can put a lid on to drink on the go.

A chocolatey smoothie:

  • Water
  • Scoop of DFH PaleoMeal Chocolate
  • Strawberries
  • 1 banana – chopped & frozen

Keep the fruit and vegetables you like frozen in your freezer. It makes it easy to grab on the go.

If making a smoothie is too time consuming, I recommend a scoop of greens and a scoop of protein. Add a nut milk or water, shake and you are off.
