Happy Tuesday! Dr. Kelly here.
Have you seen the red light glowing around the office?
You all know my infrared sauna is one of my favorite and best return of investment to my household. My entire family uses it!
Well now we have added Red and Infrared light therapy to Tree of Life Wellness Center!
We have been getting some phenomenal results. Red light and infrared light therapy are Light Emitting Diode. The unit we are using in the office produces both red and infrared light.
Unlike other types of light therapy, our red and infrared light does not contain ultraviolet rays. Therefore, they’re safe for regular use.
I brought light therapy into the office to provide an additional tool to help support your body’s healing process. The adjustment works on getting input into your nervous system, up to your brain, then back down again to the joint we are working on. I also address the muscular region too, thereby working on the nerves, bones and muscles. Getting long term changes to your body.
Resetting and setting up improved function for your body. We may not be able to reverse the degeneration in your body, but we can definitely improve function!
So here we are making changes with the adjustment, let’s add in more cellular changes. Red Light Therapy acts on our cell’s mitochondria to increase ATP production.
Supported by Research
Here’s some research:
- Cell And Physiological Benefits Increases: Cell proliferation, cell division, cell maturation, secretion of growth factors, wound healing, collagen production, wound strength, wound closer, fibroblasts, myofibroblasts, chondrocytes, epithelialization, skin circulation, oxygen supply, activity satellite cell cultures (stem cells). Decreases Prostaglandin E2, substance P, cyclooxygenase 2 (Cox 2), muscle tension. J Clin Las Med Surg 2004; 22 (2)141-150.
- Nerve Healing: LLLT accelerates peripheral nerve regeneration. Lasers Med Sci. 2015 Dec;30(9):2319-24.

- Frozen Shoulder Benefits: A significant improvement in laser therapy compared to the control group. The treatment group experienced significantly less pain and significantly improved disability scores. Range of motion in the treatment group was better than placebo. Photomed Laser Surg. 2008 Mar 16.
What does that mean to you? Reduce Pain and Inflammation
You have hip, shoulder, knee, wrist, foot pain? We can adjust and add Red Light Therapy.
You have Sciatica or Neck pain? We can adjust and add Red Light Therapy.
You may see red light therapy on amazon. Handheld Units are great if they are powerful. Look for one with 5,000 milliwatts or higher. The higher the power the faster the results. Usual treatment times are 1-2 minutes for one area.
And guess what, ours is powerful unit with treatment times less than 2 minutes per area. We still work to get you in and out of the office in a timely manner on to your personal life.
If you have been suffering from chronic pain, Red light therapy can be very effective to alleviate very much your suffering by simply applying an array of led lights to the painful spot of your body periodically and accordingly to the usage directions of the light treatment.
Please note that with sufficient powerful infrared radiation focused on the subject injured area of the body, it will penetrate to the actual internal areas or parts where the injury occurred or it will reach the most internal parts of the old injury or chronic pain to alleviate or lessen the pain towards the end of the final stages of the healing process.
After two days or so, it is noted that applying heat to increase the flow of blood that will result in generating or persuading vital nutrients to recover the damaged tissues, cells and related components of the affected part of the body. This is the recovery stage where pain is reduced by means of the light therapy treatment, if and only if, the application will be approved by a qualified Chiropractor.
