Knee Pain

Knee pain can be very limiting. ?knee pain

There can be many cause for knee pain. ?
Below is a list of a few of the common causes:

  • Osteoarthritis – the start of arthritis can settle in as we get older. It continues to get if
    left untreated. ?
  • Baker’s Cyst – Is a cyst that forms in the back of the knee. It can drain or limit your movement.
  • Ligament Tears – There are 4 major ligaments in the knee. They help to connect the bones of the knee. They add support. If there are tears, even micro tears, you lose stability of the knee. This leaves you open for more injury.
  • Meniscus tears – There are the Lateral meniscus (inside of the knee) and the Medial meniscus (outside of the knee). Either can tear and have a fragment piece that gets caught during moving and can cause severe pain.
  • Patella tracking issues – The Kneecap doesn’t move properly. This can cause pain or even a dislocation.

What can you do about knee pain? ⚡️

Keep up with a range of motion. If you don’t use it you lose it.

Think of a door that you only open and close half way. The door never opens completely. The hinges never get a chance to fully work.

What do you think has happened to those hinges over years? ?

The knee is similar. If you are never bending it, the knee will lose the range of motion abilities.

If you are healthy, I recommend air squats. ?️‍♀️

You don’t need to get crazy and add an insane amount of weight. Your body weight is perfect.

If your knee is not healthy, you can lay on your stomach and bring your knee back towards your butt.

If that is too much, while you are sitting, extend your leg out and bring it back as far as you can.
reverse lunge

A reverse lunge: For a reverse lunge, you step backwards with one leg and bring your body down.

Rolling out the ITB. The iliotibial band. This ligament goes from about your hip area to your shin. Using a form roller, you can lay on the ground and roll it out.

Nutritional support is essential.

Depending on what the cause of the knee pain is, particular supplements can be recommended.
