Recently right here in River City, no I mean right here in Elmhurst, one of our own residents needed CPR.
As reported by the patch, a York high school student collapsed at a Track meet.
The track assistant coach rushed over and performed CPR.
It is reported that this CPR helped save her life. ♥\
The American Heart Association states:
In one year alone, 436,000 Americans die from a cardiac arrest.
More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital each year.
Bystander CPR improves survival.
If performed immediately, CPR can double or triple the chance of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest.
It is impossible to know how you will respond in an emergency.
Having the knowledge and education of how to properly perform CPR gives you a step up.
According to a research review conducted by the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council:
It may shock you to discover that CPR skill retention begins to decline within a few months after training, and progressively decreases for about a year – and less than half of CPR course participants can pass a skills test one year after training.

Fortunately, I have never had to use CPR.
I have been able to practice my skills on a test dummy. It is amazing how deep you need to push for chest compressions!
I have no idea what the cost would be or even if this is an option.
But, if there is enough interest, I will reach out and see if I can organize a CPR class.
